Walter C. Slonaker, Jr., age 88, of Jefferson Hills, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2016 in HCR ManorCare, Whitehall. He was a retired milkman for Schneider's Dairy in Brentwood, member of Olivet United Presbyterian Church of West Elizabeth and Navy veteran of World War II. 

A member of American Legion Post #712 of Pleasant Hills, he enjoyed bowling, golfing, canoeing, fishing, gardening, wood carving and the company of his beagles. Born June 6, 1927 in Slickville, he was a son of the late Walter C. Slonaker, Sr. and Thelma (Halt) Slonaker and husband of the late Sara Jean (Stevens) Slonaker, who passed away June 23, 2001. Walter is survived by his two sons, Gary W. (Karen) Slonaker of Jefferson Hills and Kevin A. Slonaker of Jefferson Hills; two granddaughters, Rachel (Michael) Giampaolo of Greenfield and Rebecca (Martin) DeFrancis of Port Vue; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) on Sunday, February 21, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A funeral service will take place on Monday, February 22, 2016 at 12 Noon in the funeral home chapel, with Robert Fleming officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
