Frank C. Chovan, age 97, of Lincoln Boro, passed away on Thursday, February 18, 2016 in Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth. He was a retired steelworker with U.S. Steel, Clairton Works and member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and East Monongahela Sportsmen's Club.
Born April 28, 1918 in Clairton, he was a son of the late Matthew and Mary (Babyak) Chovan and husband of the late Mildred J. (Session) Chovan. Frank was the wonderful father to daughters, Helen M. Machine of Wheeling, WV and Mildred (Mac) McClanahan of Charlestown, WV and son, Frank Chovan, Jr. of Dolin, AZ. He was also survived by nine grandchildren; many great grandchildren and nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was predeceased by sisters, Helen Jackish, Irene Horgos and Mary Haines and brothers, Albert and John Chovan. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) on Friday, February 19, 2016 from 3- 6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, February 20, 2016 at 9:30 am in St. Michael Parish, with Rev. Thomas A. Wagner officiating. Burial will follow in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township. Frank's family would like to thank the staff of Mt.
