Lawrence Edward Blakey, 61, years old of McKeesport, Pennsylvania, passed away Thursday, June 22, 2017 in Canterbury Place.

Born December 14, 1955 in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the late Joe Hutcensen and Shirley Topsel Blakey; He was also preceded in death by step-father, John Topsel.

Larry graduated from Community Kitchen of Pittsburgh December 2016 and received the timeliness award. He worked as a Chef for Eat n’ Park in Monroeville.

Left to cherish his memories are his loving wife, Letitia Ruth Blakey of McKeesport; children, Darnell (Stephanie) Smith of Robinson, Duane Smith of Penn Hills, Leatrice Blakey,  Ashley Gibson, and Lawrence E. Blakey, Jr. all of Pittsburgh; step-children, Danielle Burnett of Munhall, Juan Burnett of Norcross, GA; twenty-four grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Kato (Betty) Arnold of Pittsburgh; sister, Peggy Bozman of Columbus, OH; mother-in-law, Lottie Burnett; brothers-in-law, James Lee and Willoughby Burnett ; sisters-in-law, Lorriane Burnett King and Pearl R. Thomas; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 10am - 12pm at the at the Robert A. Waters Funeral Home, Inc., 2326 Jenny Lind Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania, where services will begin at 12 pm with Bishop James M. Foster officiating.

Interment will follow in the Greenwood Cemetery, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.
