Robert C. Shaw, 87, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, February 20, 2016 at home. He was born December 23, 1928 in Duquesne and was the son of the late Ira Dayne and June Cunningham Shaw. Robert was a member of Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church and was proprietor of Allegheny Insurance Agency, Sentry Realty Company, and Allegheny Tax Service. He was the former owner of Shrader Veterinary Hospital.

He was a Korean War Veteran, always proud of his service to his country. He had an exceptional sense of humor, dedication to his family, and a generous nature to help people, and animals. He is survived by his wife, Valerie Wirbicki Shaw, daughter, Dayna (Shawn) Sear of New Castle and Robin (Michael) Vick of Hamilton, VA, sons, Christian (Shannon) Shaw of Jefferson Hills, and David (Becky) Orgel of Boulder, CO, grandchildren, Tyler, Max, Maddix, McKenna, Matthew, Keith, Ryan and Scott, sister-in-law, Patricia Jaycox Shaw of Mount Vernon, and nieces, Trisha Warren of Washington and Attorney Rebecca McHolme of Mount Vernon. He was preceded in death by brother, Attorney Dayne Shaw. Friends are welcome Wednesday February 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held Thursday February 25at 11 am in the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church with The Rev. William K. Little, officiating. (Everyone please meet at the church). A special thanks to his caregivers, and dear friends, Marlene Scott, Regina Clarke, Chelsea and Garrett Morningstar, and Kay Gray, we love you all dearly. Also to Brian Francis his trainer and good friend. And to his loyal employees, Lydia Adams, Jan Pfister, Rhonda Garber, and Chelsea Morningstar, thank you for all your dedication to him.
