David A. “Heavy” Lindy, age 57, of Elizabeth, Twp., passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Jefferson Hospital. He was 36-year firefighter with the Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company in Elizabeth Twp. where he was also a lifetime member, 25-year trustee and ambulance driver. David was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ in Glassport and a social member of the Buena Vista and Elizabeth Borough Fire Halls.

Born May 13, 1958 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late Walter and Mary (Keenist) Lindy. He is survived by brothers, Thomas R. (Ginny Jenco) Lindy and Donald Lindy with whom he resided, William (Linda) Lindy of Pittsburgh and Dennis Lindy; nephews, Justin and Daniel Lindy with whom he resided; also other nephews, nieces, an aunt, the Jenco Family and countless friends. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, Elizabeth on Sunday, December 20, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A funeral service will take place on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 10:00 AM in the funeral home chapel with Minister Ed Donkin officiating. Private interment in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 100 W. Station Square Drive, Suite 1900, Pittsburgh, PA 15219 and/or the American Heart Association, Four Gateway Center, 444 Liberty Avenue, Suite 1300, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
