James E. "Jim" Sabo, 68, of Versailles, died Saturday, September 2, 2017. He was born May 23, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late John J. "Tony" and Alice Marie Wilkins Sabo. Jim was a member of the Port Vue United Methodist Church. He was a retired Letter Carrier and worked 8 years in McKeesport and 28 years in Glassport. He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. For his service he received the National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal and the Combat infantryman Badge. He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Lapsley Sabo, sons, Jeffrey Sabo of Elizabeth Township and Brian James (Jenny Cook) Sabo of Newport News, VA, and grandchildren, Madison and Marisa Sabo and Caylyn Cook.
Friends are welcome Tuesday, September 5 from 2-4 and 6-8:00 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director, and Wednesday, September 6 from 10:00 am until the service at 11:00 am at the Port Vue United Methodist Church. Military Honors will follow. (Everyone please meet at the church).
