Richard D. Sarver, age 100, of North Versailles, passed away Tuesday, September 12, 2017. He was born May 11, 1917, in Berlin, PA, son of the late Jacob and Sara Ellen (Stevanus) Sarver. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 55 years Clara M. (Altfather) Sarver; brothers Edgar, Robert, and Glenn Sarver; and sisters Olive Jones and Vera Deist. He is survived by his sons Lynn (Betsy) Sarver, Larry (Maria) Sarver and Blaine (Lisa) Sarver; grandchildren Jeff Sarver, Michael (Ashley) Sarver, Paul (Kim) Sarver, Lexi (Justin) Coulthurst, Abbey Miller, Arianne (Allan) Ward, Noelle Sarver and Mallory Sarver; and great grandchildren Caleb, Ian, Ryan, Molly, Connor and Emma Sarver, Ethan and Sydney Coulthurst, and Maverick Ward. He was employed by the Union Railroad for 37 years and also a member of the URR chorus.

Long-time member of the East McKeesport Church of the Brethren and an avid traveler having visited all 48 states in the continental US and Hawaii. Friends and Family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Forgie-Snyder Funeral Home, 1032 Broadway, East McKeesport, 412-823-8083. Everyone will gather at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home for a funeral service. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Monroeville.
