John Gallo, 85, of Palmyra, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Monday, February 29, 2016 in Bob Fryer & Family Inpatient Center in Mount Joy. He was retired as a houseparent from Milton Hershey School, a member of Holy Spirit Church in Palmyra and an Army veteran.

Born May 9, 1930 in Clairton, he was a son of the late John and Catherine (Polsinelli) Gallo and husband of the late Rose (Spinale) Gallo, who passed away June 18, 2011. John is survived by his son, John A. (Virginia) Gallo of Palmyra; daughter, Andrea (Leonard) Hoffer of Mount Joy; grandchildren, Amanda Gallo and Joe and Carl Hoffer; brother, Guy Gallo of Palmyra; sisters, Louise Gallo and Lorraine Gallo, both of Clairton; also, nieces and nephews. A funeral service and burial will take place on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at 11:00 am in Christ Our Redeemer Catholic Cemetery, Pittsburgh, with Deacon Bill Palamara officiating.  Arrangements are being handled by the A.J.
