Edward A. “Moe” Kane, age 84 of Dravosburg, died October 1, 2017 at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 20, 1933 in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Edward P. and Lula “Lucy” (Rodman) Kane. Edward honorably served in the US Army during the Korean War. Following his military service, he began working for the Union Railroad Transportation Division having retired after 35 years of dedicated service. He faithfully attended Holy Spirit Catholic Church in West Mifflin and was a past Eucharist Minister at St. Martin de Porres. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree #955 and also American Legion Post 361. He is survived by his special niece, Mary Ann Kane of McKeesport; and many other loving nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, James E. P. Kane and Henry F. Kane; and sisters, Rita C. Gilligan and Sara Rodman. There will be no viewing per Ed’s wishes, however family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, October 5, 2017 from 10-10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Father Patrick C. Barkey will officiate. Burial with military honors will follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are suggested to the White Oak Animal Safe Haven.
