Elizabeth C. Shaw Snyder, 89, of North Huntingdon, died at home Tuesday March 1, 2016 surrounded by family. She was born May 10, 1926 in Latrobe, a daughter of the late Robert F. and Elizabeth C. (Harper) Shaw. A graduate of Norwin High School, Class of 1944, she attended Columbia School of Nursing before marrying her late husband William N. Snyder Jr. and raising her family. S
he enjoyed reading, the beach, playing bridge with her friends, and spending time with family. She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, Irwin and Order of Amaranth, Jeannette Court No. 25. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband William N. Snyder Jr. and her son in law Larry Howell. She is survived by her children, Kathleen A. Paskus and Cynthia L. Snyder (Maria Arguelles) both of Irwin, Suzanne E. (Skip) Paul of East McKeesport, Melissa J. Smith (Drew Allenbaugh) of Irwin, Ellen C. (Richard) Morrison of North Huntingdon, William R. (Dawn) Snyder of Irwin, Holly Snyder of Elizabeth Township, and Thomas N. (Denise) Snyder of North Huntingdon; her grandchildren, Laura Diller, Megan Dandar, Emily Paskus, Aaron Morrison, Jason Paskus, Lindsey Vojtko, Katlyn Watkins, Courtney, J. W. , and Jessica Snyder, and Nate and Abi Snyder ; her great grandchildren, Donovan, Ben, Julia, Madison, Brad, Shalynn, and Maddox, Landon, Nikolas, and Zakary; a great great granddaughter Faith; cousins; and grand dog Stew. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in First Presbyterian Church, 617 Main Street, Irwin, with Rev. Ronald H. Wakeman, officiating. Those attending the funeral service please go directly to the church. Interment will follow in Brush Creek Cemetery.
