Andrew Grese, 89, of Elizabeth, formerly of Clairton, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 in Jefferson Hospital. He was retired, after 42 years of service, as a steelworker for U.S. Steel, Clairton Works, beginning there in 1944.

A Navy veteran of World War II, he enjoyed golfing and had a love for dogs. Born February 9, 1927 in Rochester, NY, he was a son of the late John and Genevieve (Montana) Grisi. Andrew is survived by his son, Andrew F. Grese of Elizabeth; daughter, Diane (Ken) Carr of White Oak; 4 grandchildren, Andrew P. (Beth) Grese of Forward Township, Jon (Holly) Ruzich of Bethel Park, Jason (Heather) Ruzich of Liberty Boro and Darla Grese of Virginia Beach, VA; 8 great grandchildren; brother, Sam (Virginia) Grese of Port Vue; also, nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 N. 2nd. Ave., Elizabeth, PA 15037 (412-384-4344) on Saturday, March 5, 2016 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm. A Blessing will follow in the funeral home at 8:00 pm. Burial will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Western Pennsylvania Humane Society, 1101 Western Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15233.
