Nicholas “Hud” D’ Orazio Jr., 72, of Irwin, died March 3, 2016 with his family by his side. He was born February 9, 1944 in Greensburg, a son of the late Nick Sr. and Jean (Manno) D’ Orazio. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Luigi and Carmella (Penella) Manno; paternal grandparents Ferdinando and Lucia (DiMartino) D’ Orazio, several aunts and uncles, and in-laws Vince and Jewel Haas.

Nick was a salesman by trade and spent over 50 years doing what he did best. He was a 1962 graduate of Jeannette High School where he was a member of the football, basketball, and track teams for three years. He attended IUP and spent six years in the U.S. Army Reserve. Nick was an avid sports fan and played in softball, basketball, and golf leagues for many years, was a member of the Italian Club and Citizen’s Service Club both in Jeanette. He was a terrific trivia player, loved playing cards, listening to oldies music, and loved his TV. Nick dearly loved his Virginia Beach family vacations. He will be sadly missed by his wife, daughters, son, grandchildren, family, friends, and all who knew him. He was the best “ Pop Pop ” ever! Nick is survived by his wife Rose M. (Haas) D’Orazio; children Adrienne D’ Orazio of MD, Julie D’ Orazio and her fiancé Angelo Greco of North Huntindon, and Nicholas (Bridgette) D’ Orazio of Arona; grandchildren Nicholas and Jamison D’ Orazio, and Riley Stoken; sisters Lucille ( Joseph) Caesar, Arlene (Jake) Jacobelli, and Lois D’ Orazio all of Jeannette; aunt Ceil Merlino; 15 nieces and nephews, 10 great nieces and nephews, 2 great great nephews, and multiple cousins; Brother in-laws William (Becki), Robert (Judi), Vincent (Myra) Haas, and a sister in-law Mary Ann (Ken) Blank. Friends will be received 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Monday in the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Interment will follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
