Edwin R. Stumme, age 86 of North Huntingdon died March 10, 2016 at Riverside Nursing Center. He was born July 24, 1929 in North Versailles, a son of the late Theodore and Dorothy Kelly Stumme. Prior to his retirement in 1988, Edwin was employed by U.S. Steel Irwin Works. He was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in North Huntingdon. He also sang in the choir at St. John's Church for over 40 years, a member of the quartet group called the Overtones and a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Korean War .

Ed also enjoyed sending special personalized puzzles as gifts to friends and family. After retirement, he enjoyed working on rebuilding lawn mowers and his business was known as "Ed's Shed.". He was preceded in death by his beloved wife,   Dolores Crawford Stumme in 2006, brothers, Theodore C. Jr, Clifton D, Thomas D. Stumme, sisters Dorothy Rothey , Kay Stumme.  Surviving are two daughters, Cathy Higgins, Sara Stumme (Kim Schuler), a beloved niece Carol Pisarek (Ron), four grandchildren, Keith and Janet Pisarek (Kenny Peddicord), Brittany Ross, Alyssa Higgins, one great grandchild, Teagan McCutheon, sisters, Maud Andrew, Barbara Hiquet, one brother Frank Stumme . Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, Pa on Monday from 2-8 p.m.  A funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11a.m. in the funeral home chapel.
