Patricia A. (Kermes) Smith, age 68, of West Elizabeth, passed away on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Jefferson Hospital. She retired as an assistant manager for 7-Eleven in West Elizabeth. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and family.

Born February 13, 1949 in Brownsville, she was a daughter of the late John Kermes Sr. and the late Anna (Swartz) Kermes, and wife of the Alfred E. Smith Sr. She is survived by daughter, Kimberly J. (Shawn) Dodds of West Elizabeth; sons, Robert C. Smith of Charleroi, Alfred E. (Heather) Smith Jr. of Daytona Beach, FL, and Mark A. (Jennifer Hobaugh Smith) Smith of Jefferson Hills; eight grandchildren; loving companion, John Harsmanka Sr. of West Elizabeth; sisters, Brenda Beck of Belle Vernon, Pauline Forney of Harrisburg, and Elizabeth Williams of Monessen; brothers, Stephen Kermes of Farmington and James Kermes of Statesville, NC; also, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, John and Francis Kermes. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2-4 PM. No service is planned. Offer condolences at www.bekavacfuneralhome.com.
