Karen M. Smoyer, age 59 of Clairton, passed away at home on Tuesday, January 2, 2018.  Born October 2, 1958, she was a daughter of the late John W. and Pearl (Cohen) Smoyer. 

A member of the First United Methodist Church of Clairton, Karen was also a member of the Ladies' Auxiliary of the American Legion Daniel Keffer Post #75 in Clairton.  She is survived by her children Crystal Simpson of Baldwin and Michael Simpson of Clairton; her loving companion of more than 35 years Thomas G. Simpson; her brother William Smoyer of Clairton; her uncle Jerry (Lynn) Smoyer of Brentwood; and also nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Friends will be received in the A.J. Bekavac Funeral Home, 555 5th. St., Clairton, PA 15025 (412-233-5700) on Thursday, January 4, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, January 5, 2018 at 11 AM in the funeral home with Pastor Hal Dangel officiating.  Procession and burial will follow to Round Hill Cemetery in Elizabeth Twp.  Memorial contributions will be made to the American Cancer Society, 320 Bilmar Dr., Pittsburgh, PA 15205.  www.bekavacfuneralhome.com
