David G. Hale, age 78, of McKeesport, died Jan. 1, 2018, at Glen Hazel Regional Care Center in Pittsburgh. Born July 6, 1939, in New Castle, he was the son of the late George and Vera (Kachmar) Hale and the husband of the late Melda (Hatcher) Hale.
David worked as an industrial machinist for U.S. Steel. He held a Penn State Associates Degree in Engineering and was a Penn State Alumni Association member. A U.S. Army veteran, he proudly served his country during the Vietnam War. His hobbies included building model airplanes and whirly gigs. David enjoyed bingo calling at the American Legion, gardening, hunting, fishing and a good argument.
Survivors include his beloved sister, Marion (the late Terry) Hudson of McKeesport; nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. David was preceded in death by siblings, Deloris (the late Charles) Holden and Shirley (the late Frank) Whittaker.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday from 12-5 p.m. Funeral service will be in the funeral home on Monday, Jan. 8, at 10 a.m. Interment will follow at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Condolences may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com
