Grace Jane (Rankin) Vranich McDonald, 89, of North Huntingdon, died Saturday March 12, 2016, in Lake Worth, FL. She was born November 8, 1926 in East McKeesport, a daughter of the late Paul R. and Grace (Johnston) Rankin and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Marko Vranich, her siblings, June Truxell, Paul L. and William Rankin, Ida Steffler, Lois Bargiel, and Kathleen Moore; grandchildren, Joshua Vranich and Amy Zecchini; and her daughter in law Shelly Vranich.

She is survived by her husband Paul L. McDonald; her children, Mark (Cindi) Vranich of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Martin Vranich of Royal Palm Beach, FL, Carol Hancsak of Hurricane, UT, Cathleen (Thomas) McDeavitt of Boynton Beach, FL, Corrine (Thomas) Zecchini of North Huntingdon, and Connie Vranich of Lake Worth, FL; her step children Paul (Barb) McDonald of Rialto, CA, and Elaine McDonald of East McKeesport; six grandchildren, Teresa (Sean) Moon, Monica (Mike) Castillo, Aaron Hancsak, Audra (Christopher) Mitchell, Daniel Vranich, and Thomas John Zecchini; six step grandchildren, Kenneth McDeavitt, Holly Martini, Amy McDeavitt, and Sean, Aaron, and Joshua McDonald; eight great grandchildren; many nieces nephews and friends; and her constant canine companion Clyde. She was a loving wife and devoted mother. Grace was a retired employee of the former Jeannette District Memorial Hospital. She was an excellent seamstress, enjoyed making dolls, playing Rummikub, and doing jigsaw puzzles. She also enjoyed travelling to Florida to visit her family and enjoy the sunshine. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the William Snyder Funeral Home Inc., 521 Main Street, Irwin, 724-863-1200, where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Interment will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers a contribution can be made to the Disabled American Veterans @ dav.org/donate.
