Nellie A. Vukovich, age 92, of Clairton, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2015. Born February 11, 1923 in Clairton, she was a daughter of the late John and Anna (Dokman) Vukovich. A member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, Nellie received her B.S. in Education from Slippery Rock University and her Masters from Penn State University. She worked for 33 years as a science teacher for Clairton School District and for 15 years as a unit clerk at Jefferson Hospital. Nellie volunteered for Meals on Wheels in Clairton and was a member of both the A.A.R.P. Wilson Chapter #1612 and C.F.U. Lodge #248 of Clairton.

She is survived by her sister, Catherine "Kay" Vukovich of Clairton; sister-in-law, Dorothy Vukovich of Glassport; nieces and nephews, Frank J. (Helen) Vukovich, John (Sherie) Vukovich, Ann Marie Alexander, Karen (Chuck Ettar) Knab, Marilyn (Nick King) Markle, Elena (Tom Gonzales) Markle and Bonnie Markle; her great nieces and nephews, Kaela, Nate, Mathew and Chase Vukovich and Zoe Markle, and her mother Sophia Varcados; and also several cousins, especially her cousin, Anna Pekovich, still doing so well at 103. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Frank M. Vukovich and Mary Markle and nephew, Chris Markle. A visitation will be private at the convenience of the family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, December 23, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Clare of Assisi Parish, 460 Reed St., Clairton, PA 15025. Burial will follow in St. Clare Cemetery, Clairton.
