IRENE E. POLLAK age 88, of West Mifflin, on February 15, 2018, at the home of her daughter. Irene was a member of St. Joseph Church and their Confraternity of Christian Mothers and Guild. She was the first participant of Community Life in McKeesport and cut the ribbon at their grand opening where she spent countless hours. She played the ukulele and enjoyed arts and crafts and polka parties. She was the daughter of the late Elizabeth (Tankovits) Basista. She was the wife of the late Joseph S. Pollak; mother of Joseph (Carole) Pollak of West Mifflin, Debbie (Jimbo) Kopay, with whom she resided, Vicki (Terry) Davis of Westmoreland City and the late Kenneth Pollak. She was the grandmother of Jon Spiewak, Jessie (Jay) Kopay, Joey (Jim) Sapp, Misty (Dave) DeRiggi, Natalie (Tony) Leber, Kenny (Julie) Pollak; great- grandmother of Desiree, Keirston, Madelyn, Skyler, Trinity, Rocco, Austin, Anthony, Mia, Avery and KJ; stepsister of Frank Basista of Florida. Visitation on Monday, February 19, 2018, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the MALOY - SCHLEIFER FUNERAL HOME, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne, 412-466-3300 where a Blessing Service will be held Tuesday, February 20, 2018, at 9:30 a.m. followed by Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Church at 10 a.m. Rev. Thomas Lewandowski, officiating. Burial will be in the parish cemetery. Irene’s family would like to thank the staff at Community Life for the exceptional care and love given to Irene.
