RICHARD PHILLIP “RICKY” FALCHETTI age 66, passed away peacefully at the Veterans Administration H.J. Heinz Community Living Center on February 14, 2018. He lived and worked most of his life in the Duquesne area, including working at US Steel Duquesne Works, primary mill. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam Era where he received a National Defense Service Medal and an Army Commendation Medal. He was diagnosed with ALS in early 2017 and fought this terrible disease at home with the help of family members, friends, and as the disease progressed, his care was continued by loving and caring people at the VA. He was a son of the late Louise Rose (Consiglio) Falchetti. He is survived by his father, Richard L. Falchetti; brothers, Mark (Rosemarie), Byron and Keith (Mary Anne); and sister, Carmela; and special friend, Paulette Barry. He loved his nieces, Alyssa, Liana, Julia, Maria, Brittnie, Paige and Anziana; and great-nieces, Hailey and Natalie; and his aunt, Pat, in Kentucky; also cousins. There will be no visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Name Church of Christ the Light of the World Parish on Saturday, February 24, 2018, at 10 a.m. where Military Honors will be rendered. The family extends its special gratitude to all the wonderful caregivers, volunteers and community members and fellow veterans at the H.J. Heinz VA Living Center Unit 3A.
