Thomas J. Sturm, 68, of North Huntingdon, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2018 in West Penn Hospital. He was born March 24, 1949 in McKeesport, a son of the late H. John and Helen (Sitarski) Sturm.
Prior to his retirement, Tom was a guidance counselor and administrator for Duquesne City School District. He was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh earning his Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, MEd in Guidance and Counseling. Tom was a former school board director for 18 years for the Norwin School District, and was an avid model train enthusiast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Sturm; and sister, Cathy Brown. He is survived by his wife, Judith DiSalvo Sturm; son, Jonathan Sturm and his wife, Larissa; daughter, Julie Santana and her husband, Marc; four grandchildren, Olivia, Micah, Sydney and Mila. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA, on Sunday from 6-8 p.m., and Monday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A funeral service will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Fr. Kevin Dominik officiating. Interment to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pittsburgh, PA.
