Alex Stipanovich, 81, of White Oak, died Saturday, April 21, 2018. He was born July 9, 1936 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Ilija (Alex) and Boja (Kusic) Stipanovich. Alex was an Accountant and Financial Manager and retired from Dravo Corporation and the CMU School of Music. He was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church where he was formerly Vice President there. He was also a member of Polaris Lodge F & AM, Duquesne Royal Arch Chapter No. 162, and Pittsburgh Commandry No. 1 Knight's Templar. Alex was a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Business Administration and was a member of Pitt Alumni. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly (Timko) Stipanovich, sons, Nicholas (Darlene) Stipanovich of Latrobe and Michael (Christa) Stipanovich of Cresson, grandchilden, Amanda (David) McClearnon, Alex, Ethan, Ryan, Loren, and Megyn Stipanovich and many nieces and nephews.He was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Jovanovich and brothers, Peter and George Stipanovich. Friends are welcome Tuesday, April 24 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director. Service will be held in St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 901 Hartman St., McKeesport on Wednesday, April 25 at 10 am with The Very Rev. Stevan Rocknage, officiating. Interment will follow at St. Nicholas Orthodox Cemetery, West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church Renovation Fund.
