Mark Andrew Salopek, 59, of Glassport, died Thursday, April 26, 2018 at home. He was born May 3, 1958 in Homestead and was the son of the late Joseph R. and Joanne (Visoskis) Salopek. Mark was a US Air Force Veteran and graduated at the top of his class at ITT Tech and worked in the electronics field. After traveling the country in his younger years, Mark came back to the area to be closer to his family. He enjoyed playing his guitars and basketball.

He is survived by his brother, Paul M. Salopek of West Mifflin, sister, Juliann M. (George) Tamsula of Forward Township, nieces and nephews, Joseph, Ashley, Krista, Cameron, Carter, Alexander, Adam, John, Michael, and Jacob, and sisters-in-law, Laura Salopek of North Huntingdon and Tina Salopek of Virginia Beach, VA . He was preceded in death by his brothers, David J. and Joseph E. Salopek. Family and friends are welcome Tuesday, May 1, 2018 from 2-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Tuesday at 8:00 pm. Private inurnment will be in the Cemetery of the Alleghenies Columbarium, Bridgeville.
