Edna Mae Matta, age 90, of McKeesport, died May 31, 2018, at Seasons Hospice Inpatient Center at Northwest Hospital, in Ellicott City, MD. Born November 14, 1927, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late John and Henrietta (Clay) Walsh, and the wife of Joseph R. Matta Sr.

Edna Mae dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a member of Corpus Christi Church.  Edna Mae was loyal to her faith, praying the rosary daily. She was an avid bingo player and enjoyed playing card games with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her husband, Edna Mae is survived by her children, Mary Joanne Matta of McKeesport, Joseph (Debra) Matta Jr. of Ellicott City, MD and Patricia Ann (Kenneth) Buker of Canonsburg; grandchildren, Jeffrey Uhal, Amie (Stephen) Merrill, Melinda, Daniel, Brady and Parker; brother, John "Jack" Walsh of McKeesport; also nieces and nephews. Edna Mae was also preceded in death by her siblings, Geraldine Berger, Jean Claar and Harry Walsh.  Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, June 5, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, 10 a.m., in Corpus Christi Church. Fr. Steven M. Palsa will be the celebrant. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum, in Port Vue.
