William S. Skovranko Memorial Home

Obituaries | The Tube City Almanac | June 14, 2018

Born on August 11, 1918, our dear mother, Rita C. Hyzy Fatula, peacefully fell asleep in the Lord on Wednesday, June 13, 2018, in her 100th year. She is the beloved mother of Sr. Mary Ann Fatula, O.P., Bill (Mary Jean) Fatula, Mike (Late Barbara) Fatula, Rita (Don) Moldovan, and Dave (Faustyna) Fatula. She is also survived by seven treasured grandchildren, nine beloved great-grandchildren, and loving nieces and nephews. Mom was the Lord's precious gift to us. Her deep Catholic faith, her sweet and gracious temperament, her kind, peaceful disposition, and her gentle loving ways made her the very heart and soul of our family and a joy to all who knew her.

Preceding her in death were her loving parents, Adam and Anna Jablonsky Hyzy, her beloved husband Michael N. Fatula, her cherished children, infant daughter Rita Barbara and sons John Michael and James Edward, her dear sisters, Eleanor (Late Pete) Rota and Addie (Late Don Sr.) Hoffman.

Family and friends will be received from 4-8pm on Friday, June 15, 2018, in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home Inc, Richford and Commonwealth Ave. Duquesne. A Blessing in the Memorial Home on Saturday, June 16, 2018, at 9:15am will be followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10am in Good Shepherd  Roman Catholic Church, Braddock. Burial will be in SS. Peter & Paul Cemetery, West Mifflin, beside her beloved husband of 64 years. We ask the Lord to bless all those who prayed for Mom, cared for her, and showed their loving concern.

We are especially grateful to Lois Lukus, Chrysa McGee, Annie Kostyak, her devoted niece Susan Kettering, and 365 Hospice for their wonderful and loving care of Mom. In lieu of flowers, it was Mom's humble request that prayers and Masses be offered for her and all the faithful departed.
