John D. Baran, age 81, of Port Vue, died June 14, 2018, at Select Specialty Hospital of McKeesport. Born August 21, 1936, in Port Vue, he was the son of the late John C. and Anna (Macus) Baran and the husband of  Dorothy (Wertz) Baran for 42 years.

John was retired from Time Warner Cable Co., where he worked as a line technician. He was a member of St. Mark Parish. John was a U.S. Army veteran, serving during peacetime. He enjoyed motorcycles, gun collecting, woodworking, and fishing.

In addition to his wife Dorothy, John is survived by his children; son, David (Tara) Baran of North Huntingdon and step-son, Charlie (Karen) Lofstrom of  Port Vue; grandson, Jacob Steinberg, and great grandchild, Chloe Rousseau; sisters, Irene Myers of Port Vue and Eleanor Baron of Jefferson Hills; nephews, Tommy Myers, Craig (Mary) Myers and Brian (Mary Beth) Myers.

Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, June 18, 2018, from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A blessing service will be held Wednesday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel. Fr. Daniel Straughn will officiate. Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery of Port Vue.
