Richard Kruszyna, age 94, of North Huntingdon, passed away Wednesday, June 27, 2018 at his home. He was born May 25, 1924 in McKeesport, Pa., a son of the late Ignatius and Frances (Antczak) Kruszyna.
Richard was honorably discharged from the US Army where he served as a Staff Sergeant in the South Pacific. He was employed as a rigger at the Christy Park Works of US Steel where he retired after more than 40 years of service. He was a member of St. Agnes Church where he served as an usher at the 4:30 p.m. Mass on Saturdays, was a member of the Men's Club and belonged to the Norwin Seniors Bowling League. He was a faithful volunteer at the Food Bank for many years. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Joseph and Robert Kruszyna; and his sister, Helen Dunn. He is survived by his loving wife, Harriet Kruzynski Kruszyna; children, Linda K. Simmeth and her husband, Michael, Richard M. Kruszyna and his wife, Patricia; grandsons, Richard and Michael Kruszyna; and nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon on Sunday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday at 10 a.m. in St. Agnes Church. Entombment to follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
