Carl H. Nelson, age 88, of White Oak, died June 27, 2018, at Independence Court of Monroeville. Born February 17, 1930, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Carl T. and Edith E. (Lightner) Nelson and the husband of the late Dolores Jane Fulton Nelson.

Carl was retired from Verizon, the former Bell Telephone Co., where he was a system technician and was active in the Bell Telephone Pioneer's. He was a member of Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church. Carl was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War. He was a member and past master of Masonic Lodge #765 East McKeesport. He enjoyed learning computers, playing the organ and he was a all around handy man, always there to lend a hand. Carl spent his winters in Beverly Hills, FL. He is survived by his children, Bruce (Marcia) Nelson of White Oak, Keith (Patty) Nelson of McKeesport and Mark (Dottie) Nelson of Hernando, FL; grandchildren, Matt, Adam (Jessica), Kelly ( Josh) Perrin, Erin, Stephen, William (Francis), Nicki (Skylar) Bryant and Breanna (Matt) Nelson-Pierce; great grandchildren, Theodore, Andrew, Sierra, Olivia, Christopher, Braden, Hunter and Liam. In addition to his wife and parents, Carl was preceded in death by his son, Russell L. Nelson; brother, Frank A. Nelson; sister-in-law, Audrey J. Fulton. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, June 30, 2018, from 6 to 8 p.m. and Sunday, from Noon to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m., with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Monday, 10 a.m., at Sampson's Mills Presbyterian Church. Rev. Jessica McClure Archer will officiate. Burial and military honors will follow in Allegheny Cemetery. Condolences and memories may be shared at www.jaycox-jaworskifh.com
