Gerald M. "Jerry" Firda, age 57, of McKeesport, died July 23, 2018, at home. Born September 21, 1960, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late Robert and the living Ellen (Girman) Firda and the husband of Diana (Pawlak) Firda.
Jerry was currently employed by Pittsburgh Trane, where he was a HVAC technician. He was a member of Corpus Christi Church. Jerry was a F&AM, Polaris Lodge # 375. He was also a member of the West Newton Sportsman's Club and the American Legion Post # 701. Jerry loved the outdoors, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also took great pride in training and tending to his Beagles. In addition to his mother and wife, Jerry is survived by his children, Matthew (Jennifer) Firda of Plum and Nicole Firda of McKeesport; grandchildren, Mischa, Owen, Ashton and Brayden; siblings, Robert (Barbara) of McKeesport, Gary (Cynthia) of New York, Richard of White Oak, David (Cynthia) of Mt. Vernon and Cheryl (Todd) Nestor of North Huntingdon; also many nieces and nephews. He was also preceded in death by his sister, Elaine Baker. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Thursday, July 26, 2018, from 6 to 9 p.m., with a Masonic service at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church.
