Samuel R. Diggs, age 77, of McKeesport, died July 22, 2018, at John J. Kane Regional Medical Center. Born December 01, 1940, in Birmingham, AL, he was the son of the late Mancey Robinson and Tiny (Williams) Robinson and the husband of the living Lorretta M. (Nalls) Wong Diggs, for 47 years.

Samuel was currently working for the PA State Lottery, where he was a clerk in the North Shore of Pittsburgh office. Sam was a member of Metropolitan Baptist Church and St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Sam was a model, singer and an actor, in his early years, he played the part of "Little Joe," in the play "Show Boat." Sam was also an active democratic committee man. In addition to his wife, Sam is survived by his sister, Dorothy Douglas; children, Yolanda (Carlson) Moss, Michael (Tammy) Arrington and Samuel R.(Shenithia) Diggs, Jr.; step-daughter, Ava Bonner; God son, Austin Davis;11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren;  also nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his step-children, Laura Johnson and James Johnson; granddaughter, Latoya Arrington; grandson, Lionel Bonner; and 10 siblings. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, July 30, 2018 from 10 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. A funeral service will follow, 1 p.m., at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church. Father Brandon Mozingo will officiate. Burial will follow in McKeesport & Versailles Cemetery.
