Virginia (Aunt Ginny) Linneman, 94, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 01, 2018. She passed away from complications of a recent stroke.Aunt Ginny was born February 7, 1924, in Coulter PA. She resided many years with her sister Thelma (Jack) Carlson in McKeesport. After retiring from Westinghouse Electric in East Pittsburgh (Shipping Department), she lived approximately 25 years in Ft. Myers, Florida. At the age of 90, she moved in with her niece Connie Carlson Meyers (Jeffrey) in North Huntingdon.
Aunt Ginny was the daughter of the late LeRoy Sylvester and Caroline Susanna (Reitler) Linneman. She was preceded in death by her sisters Thelma Carlson and Phyllis Menzies. She is survived by four nieces and four nephews: Carol (Carlson) Cottom of McKeesport; Kenneth Carlson of Las Vegas, NV; Connie (Carlson) Meyers of North Huntingdon; Sherrie Carlson of Pittsburgh; Donald Menzies of Beaver Falls; Robert Menzies of North Huntingdon; Kathy (Menzies) Rosario of Cape Coral, FL; and Gary Menzies of Ft. Worth, TX. She is also survived by 18 great nieces and nephews, 33 (we think) great great nieces and nephews, and another great great niece due in December.
Aunt Ginny was very mentally sharp until her recent stroke, texting her family on her smartphone, playing Words with Friends on her iPad, and reading a book or more a week on her Kindle. Her beautiful needlepoint graces many of our homes. She considered building 1000 piece puzzles part of her daily chores. She loved her family, the family pets, her game shows, her sweets and chocolate, but especially her beloved Pirates.
Aunt Ginny was a member of the North Shore Alliance Church of North Fort Myers, FL (and previously a member of the McKeesport, PA Christian and Missionary Alliance Church).
Aunt Ginny will be lovingly missed by her family, but she was ready and looking forward to heaven.
Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Saturday, August 4, 2018, from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Marty Smith will officiate. Burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please perform an act of kindness for an elderly person in memory and honor of Aunt Ginny.
