George Michael Simko, age 77, of Elizabeth Twp., passed away on Monday, August 6, 2018 at home. A Navy veteran having served during the Vietnam War, he was retired from CPI Industries in McKeesport. He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport and was a member of Blaine Hill Volunteer Fire Company and a lifetime member of the NRA. 

Born April 16, 1941 in McKeesport, he was a son of the late John and Mary (Demko) Simko. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Lou (Lang) Simko; daughters, Sherrie (Bernard) Sersevic of Elizabeth Twp., Cindy (David) Stuebner of Elizabeth Twp., Laurie (Fred) Schmidt of Jefferson Hills, and Michelle (Craig) Yauch of Perryopolis; grandchildren, Samantha (Dave), Rachael, David Jr., Hunter, Brianna, Molly and Allie; sisters, Mary Lou Warrington of Tennessee and Dolores (Mike) Dugan of Confluence; sister-in-law, Glenna Simko of Ohio; also, nieces and nephews; and Gracie, the dog. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Jr. and Ronald E. Simko. Friends will be received in the Paul E. Bekavac Funeral Home, 221 North Second Avenue, Elizabeth on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 from 2-8 PM with a Parastas service at 4 PM. A Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial will take place on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport with the Rev. Donald Voss officiating.
