George Biros, age 90, of White Oak, died August 5, 2018, at UPMC Shadyside. Born June 9, 1928, in McKeesport, he was number 12 of fifteen children, he was the son of the late Andrew and Elizabeth (Kohlar) Biros and the husband of the late Ruth A. (McKenna) Biros.
George was retired from Penn Dot, where he was a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of St. Angela Merici Church. George was a US Army Veteran, serving during the Korean War and a member of the White Oak American Legion Post #701. He was also an auctioneer. George loved attending auctions, he had a passion for buying and selling. You could usually find him tending to the family farm, feeding the cows or cutting the grass to bail hay. He was proud to provide the community with his bountiful harvest year after year. George is survived by his children, David (Roberta) Biros of Tennessee, Bill (Julie) Biros of Chicago, Il, James Biros of White Oak, Tommy (Sharon) Biros of West Newton, Diane (Ken) Dandar of White Oak; grandchildren, Ashley, Brandon, Anthony, Amanda, Amber, Hannah, Jack and Adam; great grandchildren, Izabella and Mya; siblings, Margaret Traynor of White Oak, Bob Biros of White Oak and Joseph Klebak of Denver, CO; also many nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Wednesday, August 8, 2018, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral blessing service will be held on Thursday, 12 p.m., at St. Angela Merici Church, Deacon Dale J.
