Donald F. Uchnar, age 81, of McKeesport, died August 9, 2018, at home. Born July 2, 1937, in Braddock, he was the son of the late John and Mary (Birkosky) Uchnar and the husband of the late Viola M. "Bubba" (Cypher) Uchnar. Don was retired from the US Post Office, where he was a letter carrier, with 38 years of service. He was a US Marine veteran, serving during the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Port Vue American Legion Post # 447. Don enjoyed hunting and fishing in his early years and loved his pet dog "Sadie." Don is survived by his daughter, Madaline (Tom Henaghan) Blyth of Monroeville; step-children, Tim (Antoinette Young) Esken of Baldwin, David (Jill) Esken of Finleyville, Donald Esken of Finleryville, Kathleen (Chris) Martino of Jefferson Hills, Geno (Mechelle) Esken of McKeesport; grandchildren, Frank (Alicia) Henaghan of Penn Hills and Sean (Brei) Henaghan of North Versailles; step-grandchildren, Laura (Al) Tarant, Mitchell, Elizabeth and Dominic Martino, Sullivan, Ava Esken; great grandchildren, Keagan, Kinsley; step-great grandchildren, Zoey and McKenzie. Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, August 13, 2018, from 6 p.m. until the time of service at 8 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Pastor Jody Dausey will officiate. The American Legion Post #447 will have a honors service at 7:30 p.m. Inurnment in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies will be scheduled at a later date.
