Mildred F. "Millie" Osika, age 93, of Port Vue, died August 24, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 12, 1925, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Valent and Mary (Ulakovic) Ratesic and the wife of the late Andrew R. Osika, for 52 years.

Mildred F. "Millie" Osika, age 93, of Port Vue, died August 24, 2018, at UPMC McKeesport. Born May 12, 1925, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Valent and Mary (Ulakovic) Ratesic and the wife of the late Andrew R. Osika, for 52 years. Millie dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was a member of St. Mark Parish and the Port Vue Seniors. She thoroughly enjoyed playing bingo, loved to bake (ladylocks and black bottom cupcakes) and cook, especially her famous stuffed cabbages. Millie also enjoyed playing cards and she was a big Pittsburgh Pirates baseball fan. She was the most supportive grandmother and mom anyone could have wished for, she was simply a kind and gentle soul. Millie is survived by her son, Robert Osika of Port Vue; grandchildren, Alina Osika of Salt Lake City, UT and Steven Osika of Fort Collins, CO; sister, Helen Moss of McKeesport; sisters-in-law, Dolores Marte and Margaret "Peg" Ratesic; brothers-in-law, Edward Osika and Merle Judd; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Millie was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Figel, George Ratesic, Margaret Tomco, John "Dixie" Ratesic and Edward Ratesic. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, August 28, 2018, from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, 10 a.m., at St. Mark Parish, Port Vue worship site. Fr. Daniel Straughn will be the celebrant. Committal will follow in Calvary Cemetery of Port Vue.
