Thomas M. Conaboy, Sr, age 77, of Liberty Borough, died August 29, 2018, peacefully in the arms of his family, at Asbury Heights in Mt. Lebanon. Born June 30, 1941, in Braddock, he was the son of the late Michael and Nora (Killeen) Conaboy and the husband of Dorothy (Swabsky) Conaboy.
Tom retired as a CSX railroad detective and earlier worked for the Pittsburgh and Lake Erie Railroad. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Hammerburg Destroyer. Tom enjoyed the time he spent at his camp in Tionesta and traveled around the country on hunting and fishing trips. He was an avid gardener. His grandchildren and grand-dogs brought him his greatest joy.
In addition to his beloved wife, survivors include children, Suzanne (Edward) Karlovich, of Mount Lebanon, Thomas M. Jr. (Vickie), of Bethel Park and Carolyn Conaboy Persichetti of West Mifflin; grandchildren, Norah, Colleen, Carly, Vincent, Michael and Artemis; siblings, Mary Dubaniewicz of Baldwin and Nora Lawrence of Forest Hills; nieces and nephews
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home on Sunday from 2-7 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Daniel Straughn at the Liberty Borough Worship Site of St. Mark Parish, 11:00 a.m., on Labor Day. Interment will be in All Saints Braddock Catholic Cemetery.
