Martha Jean Dandar, age 87, of White Oak, died September 6, 2018, at Forbes Regional in Monroeville. Born September 21, 1930, in McKeesport, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Anna (Weller) Weigand and the wife of the late Kenneth J. Dandar, for over 38 years.
Martha was a retired self-employed restaurant owner operator and she worked at G. C. Murphy Co. in her early years. She was a member of St. Angela Merici Church and volunteered at church festivals for many years. Martha was active in the Silver Sneakers Group. She enjoyed reading, puzzles and bowling. Martha especially loved cooking and baking for her family. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Laurie Chiodo of Irwin and Ken (Diane) Dandar of White Oak; grandchildren, Heather, Jessica, Anthony (Liz), Brittany and Courtney; brother, Ray "Slats" Weigand of Liberty Borough; also many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by siblings, June Thomas and Harold "Poison" Weigand. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Sunday, September 9, 2018, from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. A blessing service will be held Monday, 10 a.m., in the funeral home chapel.
