Eugene Howard Worthy, 93, of White Oak, died Monday, September 17, 2018. He was born December 13, 1924 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Matthew and Jeannette (Mack) Worthy. Eugene was a member of the former St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in McKeesport and was retired from US Steel National Tube Works, and Westinghouse in East Pittsburgh. He was a WWII US Army Veteran and served along the China-Burma Road. For his service, he received the American Theater Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon w/2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Mezoff) Worthy, daughters, Beverly Wayne of Dublin, OH, June L. (Donald) Kudas of White Oak, and Betty Gene (Mark) Stoner of Elizabethtown, grandchildren, Emily (Ralph) Rajadurai, Valerie (Mark) Bacco, Todd (Nicole) Kudas, Jacqueline (Gerry) Greco, Lindsay (Andy) Hoover and Nathan (Tasha) Stoner, great-grandchildren, Reece, Jules and Wynne Greco, Audriana and Samuel Bacco, Shelby, Kelsey, and Mackenzie Hoover and Natalie Stoner, and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his son, David Paul Worthy, sister, Bette Huffman, and brothers, Herbert, Thomas, Walter and James Worthy. A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 11:00 am, in the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak. (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, Director.
