Mary Jane "Dolly" Speney, age 90 of Port Vue, passed away at home on Sunday, September 23, 2018. Born September 2, 1928 in McKeesport, she was a daughter of the late Ernest and Josephine Morningstar. A former secretary at Speney Chevrolet in West Newton and a former co-owner of the Palisades Ballroom in McKeesport, Mary Jane was a member of St. Mark's Parish in Port Vue and actively involved in the former Port Vue American Legionettes.

She also loved to dance and play cards with her girlfriends. Mary Jane is survived by her husband of 71 years Frank A. Speney, Sr.; her children Mary Jo (Charles) McClintock of Port Vue, Frank A. (Anne) Speney, Jr. of Elizabeth and Lisa Speney of Elizabeth; her grandchildren Andrea (Kurt,) Frank, III (Miriam,) Timothy (Nadia,) Kailey, and Dana; her great-grandchildren Xavier, Rease, Aurelia, Leilana, Kendall, and Harper; her sister-in-law Denisejo Brakeall; and also nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Michael Speney and her sister Shirley George. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles Borough, McKeesport, PA 15132 (412-678-3454) on Tuesday, September 25, 2018 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at 10 AM with Fr. Daniel Straughn officiating.
