 Ronald Francis McEvoy, Jr., 59, of Elizabeth, passed away unexpectedly, Monday, November 12, 2018 at Jefferson Hospital.  He was born May 17, 1959 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Ronald Francis McEvoy, Sr. and the late Noreen A. (Stragand) McEvoy. Ronald was  US Marine Corps Veteran and served as a Lance Corporal.

He worked as a fork truck driver for Tygart Steel in Versailles and was a member of St. Michael's Parish in Elizabeth. He enjoyed being a part of the Renaissance Festival in Pittsburgh, where he was very loved, and felt at home. He entered the Men in Kilts contest and recently won 3rd place, though everyone insists he should have won.   He is survived by his wife of 24 years,  Linda M. (Sherman) McEvoy, son, Ronald Francis McEvoy, III. at home, step-sons, Matthew (Barbara) Chapman of Carrick, Thomas "TJ" Chapman of Castle Shannon and Jonathan Chapman of Elizabeth, grandchildren, Matthew Chapman, Jr., Owen Chapman and Reed Chapman,  sister, Kathleen (Charles) Trafalis, brother, Timothy McEvoy both of Elizabeth, niece and Goddaughter, Amy Trafalis of Elizabeth, mother-in-law, Alberta (the late Robert) Sherman of West Mifflin and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Jamie McEvoy.  Friends are welcome from Thursday, November 15 from 4-8 pm and on Friday, November 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.   Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated  Monday, November 19, at 10:00 am in St. Michael Parish with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating.
