Florence E. Zolczer, age 87, of McKeesport, died November 30, 2018, at Family Hospice & Palliative Care of Mt. Lebanon. Born January 9, 1931, in Buena Vista, she was the daughter of the late Valentine and Josephine (Strohen) Stieman and the wife of the late Adolph F. Zolczer.
Florence retired from UPMC McKeesport Hospital, where she was housekeeper with over 45 years of service. She was very proud of her Catholic faith. Florence had a passion for gardening and loved animals. She is survived by brother, Anthony Stieman, son-in-law, B. William Duran of Panama; nephews, John Detweiler, Don Kolenc and Paul Stieman; niece, Marjorie Young of OH. In addition to her parents and husband, Florence was also preceded in death by her son, Robert "Regis" Smith; siblings, Josephine Kolenc, Amelia Lodar, Helen Detweiler, Valentine, Jr., William "Tabby" Stieman and niece, Edwanna Stieman Donet; loyal kitties, Logan and Sammi. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Tuesday, December 4, 2018, from 12:30 p.m. until the time of blessing service at 1 p.m., in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, at aspca.org.
