Raymond Regis Sherer, 96, of Greenock, passed away Friday, December 21, 2018. He was born October 13, 1922 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Francis M. and Anna (Wedel) Sherer. He was the husband of the late Rose Marie (King) Sherer who died November 7, 2013. Ray was a member of St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park, USW Local 1408, Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens, and AARP. He was a US Coast Guard Veteran serving during WWII.

He is survived by his son, Raymond Regis (Carol) Sherer, Jr., of Prescott Valley, AZ, daughters, Maureen Fairbanks of Phoenix, AZ, Christine Sherer of Peoria, AZ, and Eileen (Kevin) Widany of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Matthew and Katherine Sherer, Andrea Perry, Craig Pearlstein, and Rachel and Eric Widany, great-grandchildren, Neven and Daria Sherer, Olivia, Joseph and Benjamin Perry and Avery and Owen Pearlstein, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Francis, William and Robert Sherer, and sisters, Marie Hoffman and Helen Smith. Friends are welcome Sunday, December 23, 2018 from 12-2:00 pm. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
