Atna E. Carper, age 95, of Coulters, PA, died peacefully on January 30, 2019, at home surrounded by her family. Born December 23, 1923, in Mt. Etna, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and Bess (Isenberg) Koontz and the wife of the late Walter L. Carper.

Atna dedicated her life to caring for her family. She was famous for her homemade bread, rolls, cinnamon rolls and putt pie. Everyone loved to walk past her home to breathe in the aroma of her home cooking. The neighborhood kids looked forward to asking Mrs. Carper for a roll, in which she was always happy to oblige. Atna is survived by her children, Shir (Joe) Horn of Coulters, Dorie (Bob) Reese of Wellington, FL, Terry (Cookie) of Coulters, Gary (Sue) of Coulters, James of Coulters, Ken of Coulters, Dee Pastor of Boynton Beach, FL, Dennis (Cyndi) of Green Cove Springs, FL, Norman (Barb) of Monessen, Atna (Marty) Findura of Elizabeth, Colin "Crash" (Kelly) of McKeesport and Wayne of Coulters; 19 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson and sister, Dorothy Koontz of Williamsburg, PA . In addition to her parents and husband, Atna was also preceded in death by her brother, James A. Koontz. Arrangements were entrusted to Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory. As per Atna's request, no funeral or memorial services will be held. Inurnment will be in Coulter Cemetery. Memorial contributions are suggested to South Versailles Twp.
