William F. Lane, Sr., age 75, of McKeesport, died February 14, 2019, at UPMC McKeesport. Born February 12, 1944, in McKeesport, he was the son of the late William and Loris (Keyser) Lane and the husband of the late Darla (Jones) Lane.

Bill’s career spanned 30 years working for US Steel and Terminix. He was a US Navy veteran, serving during the Vietnam War onboard the USS Canberra. Bill loved spending time with his family, cherished dogs, and enjoyed horseback riding on the beach. He is survived by children, William (Laurie) Lane of Friendswood, Texas and Bryan Lane of North Ridge, California; grandchildren, Marissa and Ashley, native Texans; sisters Cathy Slafka of Glassport and Diane (Guy) Savasta of Marion Center; nieces and nephews, William (Michelle) Slafka of McKeesport, Craig (Katie) Slafka of Glassport, Carey (Mark) Yuhas of Glassport, Jason (Jessica) Savasta of Morgantown, West Virginia, Jeff (Anna) Savasta of Sarver, and Jaimie (Don) Frame of Irwin; also many great nieces and nephews. Family and friends are invited to interment at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the American Heart Association.
