Emil Pohodich, 88, of Elizabeth Township, passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, February 24, 2019. He was born November 10, 1930 in McKeesport and was the son of the late George and Anna (Lazur) Pohodich. Emil was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in McKeesport and was a retired Industrial Engineer at the former General Motors Fisher Body Plant in West Mifflin. He served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 to 1952.
He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Dorothy (Caric) Pohodich, sons, Emil M. (Barbara) Pohodich and Gregory A. (Carol) Pohodich of Bethel Park, Edward J. (Karen) Pohodich of Perryopolis and Robert B. Pohodich of Warrenton, VA, grandchildren, Amy, Kristy, Gregory, Brianna, Joshua, Alexandra, Aden and Lindsey, great-grandchildren, Makalya, Isabella and Avery and 25 nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Kathy L. Pohodich who passed away in 1965, sisters, Mary Pohodich, Veronica Fulen, Ann Shyosky, Evelyn Smith, and Dorothy Gossman, and brothers, Michael, Andrew, George and John Pohodich. Funeral Service will be held Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 10:00 am in St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church. (Everyone please meet at the church). The Rev. Donald Voss will be officiating .
