Martha Yurik, age 99, of McKeesport, died March 27, 2019, at Riverside Care Center. Born June 4, 1919, in Braddock, she was the daughter of the late George and Mary (Mavajsky) Bruzak and the wife of the late Paul A. Yurik, for 48 wonderful years.
Martha worked as a "Rosie Riveter" for Westinghouse, during WWII. She then devoted her life to caring for her family. Martha was a longtime member of Corpus Christi Church. She enjoyed crocheting, making ceramics, and playing cards. She will always be remembered for her excellent cooking and baking. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She is survived by her children, Tom (Monica) of Greensburg, Paul G. of McKeesport; grandchildren, Pastor Michael (Katherine) Yurik, Jaqueline (Russell) Blankenship, Elizabeth (David) Illes; great grandchildren, Claire, Mason, Declan, Jacob, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by siblings, Margaret and Anne Bruzak. Family and friends will be received at Jaycox-Jaworski Funeral Home & Crematory on Monday, April 1, 2019, from 9 a.m. until the time of blessing service at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Burial will follow in Monongahela Cemetery of Braddock, PA. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Arthritis Foundation, at 1355 Peachtree St. NE, Suite 600, Atlanta, GA 30309.
