Mark Vojnovich, 92, of Duquesne, fell asleep in the Lord peacefully on Sunday, March 31, 2019, in Walden’s View of North Huntingdon. Born in Duquesne, April 17, 1926, he was the son of the Late Eli Vojnovich and Mary Stipanovich. Mr. Vojnovich He was a member of St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, McKeesport. He was a retired proprietor of Butch’s Wonder Bar. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Beloved husband of the Late Elizabeth “Betty” Vojnovich, he is survived by his loving son Thomas Vojnovich of Florida, two brothers, Donald (Milena) Vojnovich of North Huntingdon and Eli Vojnovich of Duquesne, a sister-in-law Dolores Vojnovich of North Huntingdon, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by a sister Helen Vojnovich Medic and two brothers, John and William Vojnovich.
Family and friends will be received in the William S. Skovranko Memorial Home, Inc., Richford and Commonwealth Avenue, Duquesne, on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 4-8pm. Funeral Services will be conducted on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 11am in St. Sava Orthodox Church, 913 Hartman St., McKeesport with Rev. Stevan Rocknage officiating. Everyone please meet at church. Burial with military honors will follow in Union Cemetery, Irwin, PA. Pomen Service will be prayed at 7pm on Tuesday in the Memorial Home.
