Edwin J. Weldon, age 82 of Versailles, passed away on Thursday, May 2, 2019 in UPMC Presbyterian Hospital. Born March 4, 1937 in Philadelphia, he was a son of the late James C. and Marie (Weber) Weldon. Edwin worked as a salesclerk at Sears at South Hills Village; he was a member of St. Patrick's Church in McKeesport; a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War; and a member of both the Versailles and Lester V.F.C.
He is survived by his wife Lylalee L. (Lytle) Weldon; his daughters Denise (Steve) Siviy of Gettysburg, Dawn (Wayne Carver) Forbes of Lee, MA, and Deborah (John Lips) Schroeder of Versailles; his nine grandchildren; his five great-grandchildren; his siblings Theresa Kalsenik of Winston-Salem, NC, Mary Cummings of West Chester and Veronica Bienkowski of Brookhaven, and Patricia Weldon of Lester; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by his sister Ann Marie Funderburg. Friends will be received in the Daniel F. Bekavac Funeral Home and Crematory, 4504 Walnut Street, Versailles, on Monday, May 6, 2019 from 2 to 4 PM and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Patrick's Church with procession and burial with military honors to follow to Mt. Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
