Mary Burkhart, age 85 of North Huntingdon, passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Latrobe Hospital,  She was born July 19, 1930 in Allegheny County, a daughter of the late Ralph and Anna DeStefano.

 Prior to her retirement, Mary was a sales clerk for JCPenney Catalog and later worked for the Hallmark Store in Norwin Town Square.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Donald in 2012; and four brothers, Sam, Joe, Jim and John DeStefano.  She is survived by one son Donald Burkhart Jr and his wife, Mary of Rawlins, WY; one daughter, Leanne McLaughlin and her husband, John of Okeechobee, Fla., 5 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the James W. Shirley Funeral Home, 176 Clay Pike, North Huntingdon, PA, on Monday from 5-8 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held on Tuesday at 10 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will take place in Brush Creek Cemetery.  Memorials may be made to the Westmoreland County Food Bank or a charity of one's choice. www.shirleyfuneralhome.com.
