Mary T. Schmidt, age 93, of Trafford, formerly of Christy Park, died June 30, 2019, at Transitions Healthcare of North Huntingdon. Born May 27, 1926, in Dravosburg, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Genevieve (Redding) Stinson and the wife of the late Harry D. Schmidt.

Mary was, indeed the matriarch of her family. Mary was a member of Corpus Christi Church and former member of St. Peter Church for 80 years. She was a Eucharistic Minister and member of the Christian Mothers, Rosary Society, Ladies of Charity and the Bereavement Group. Mary was the owner of the former Tasty Freeze in White Oak and Aunt Mary's Family Restaurant in Christy Park. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
Mary is survived by her sons, Harry J. (Cathy Callahan) of Christy Park and Thomas J. with whom she lived; daughter-in-law, Cheryl Schmidt of VA; granddaughters, Mary Beth (Jamie) Kwiecinski of VA, Amy Lee Saunier (Richard Kapsha) of Munhall and Melissa Ann (Michael) Mehaffey of West Mifflin; great-grandchildren, Colton, Kaelin, Ailena, Karina, Jack and Austin; also nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Mary was also preceded in death by her siblings, James, Genevieve, Irene, Edward, Raymond, William, Annie McLaughlin, Helen Grace, Stella Minyon, Eileen Albensi, and Joseph.
Family and friends will be received at Willig Funeral Home & Crematory on Friday, July 5, 2019, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, 10 a.m., at Corpus Christi Church. Committal prayers and burial will follow in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park.
Memorial contributions are suggested to the American Diabetes Foundation, Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, or the National Kidney Foundation.
